Seefbier is a historic Belgian cloudy blond beer from Antwerp. It dates from the 17th century (and is probably even older), making it one of the oldest existing beers in Belgium. It was the most popular beer in the Antwerp region, so popular that part of Antwerp was even named after the beer. . (Seefhoek) With the disappearance of the smaller craft breweries (as a result of major industrial competition and the First World War), the beer and the recipe were lost. After a search that lasted more than 3 years, the recipe was found and re-brewed with the original ingredients barley, wheat, oats and buckwheat, Belgian hops and historic yeast. The Antwerp Brouw Compagnie was founded to bring this legendary beer back onto the market. Since its relaunch, Seefbier, with its approachable yet distinctive taste and aroma, has won the hearts of many beer lovers and has become one of the most highly regarded Belgian beers of recent years, having won the title of 'World's Best' or Gold 7 times at various international beer competitions, including World Beer Cup, World Beer Awards (3 times in a row), Brussels Beer Challenge and Global Craft Beer Awards. The beer is recognized as an official beer of the city of Antwerp and as a historic regional product (regional product). Brewed in the city center by the Antwerp Brewing Company.
