BATCH 11 (blended on April 23, 2012) was divided as follows: Type BATCH Malbec Barrels 55% New French Oak Medium Toast 20% New French Oak High Toast 20% Acasia Wood 5% BATCH 11 is the last batch to use Malbec barrels. But this batch also contains a lot of Quadrupel that has been used on new wood. Batch 11 is a bottling that is very complex in terms of aroma. The aroma of the Malbec wine is prominent; lots of oak flavor from the medium toast; lots of vanilla and almond through the high toast; floral aromas of the Acacia and of course the beer aromas of the Quadrupel. Very robust and tannic in taste, additional aging in the bottle is recommended. This extra bearing will further increase the complexity and soften the taste. Although the influence of red wine is clear, the wood aromas dominate in this batch. Highly recommended for anyone who likes heavy ales/wines with a rich wood flavor and aroma.
