bottling date: 15/04/2020 Sherry barrel Geuze In the spring of 2019, the brewers received a series of very old Oloroso, PX and Amontillado barrels through a local Jerez cooperative. The aromas were a mix of typical fine sherry notes and toasted, peated characteristics, which the brewers have never experienced before. However, after a year of bottle conditioning – because of the higher peated aromas, despite balanced – the brewers decided to release this bottle not as a Zenne y Frontera, but as a peated gueuze. This blend, like blend 61, comes mostly from Oloroso barrels. The weighted average age of this blend, upon its release, is almost three years old. The oldest lambic was brewed in April 2018. NL 3 Fonteinen Oude Geuze is an assembly of lambics of one, two and at least three years old. Spontaneously mistaken. Matured in oak barrels. Long storage in bottle. Unfiltered. Unpasteurized. FR 3 Fonteinen Oude Geuze is an assembly of lambic bottles, deux et al. Fermenté spontaneément. Élevé en fûts de chêne. Longue conservation en bouteille. Non filter. Non pasteurized. EN 3 Fonteinen Oude Geuze is a blend of one-, two- and at least three-year old lambics. Spontaneously fermented. Matured in oak barrels. Extended bottle ageing. Unfiltered. Unpasteurised.
